The SDO allows scientists to analyze the sun’s effects on earth, especially on humanity. Through SMI switches, over 350 million images of the sun have been transmitted to earth. By studying the sun’s north and south poles along with its magnetic fields, future solar activity can be predicted. Our most accurate models of the Sun are developed through the SDO. The 9th anniversary of the SDO passed in February of this year.
